Herb Robert
Geranium robertianum
aka: Geranium, Red Flowered
Astringent. Internal use of Herb Robert is recommended for diarrhea, gastritis, enteritis, gout, and hemorrhage. A hot poultice of boiled leaves is said to be good for bladder pains, fistulas, bruises, erysipelas, and persistent skin problems. The green, crushed herb can also be applied to relieve pain and inflammations. Use the tea also as a rinse for inflammations in the mouth, and the diluted tea as an eyewash.
Leaf tea formerly used for malaria, tuberculosis, stomach and intestinal ailments, jaundice, kidney infections; to stop bleeding; gargled for sore throats. Externally, wash or poultice used to relieve pain of swollen breasts; folk cancer remedy, applied externally to fistulas, tumors, and ulcers.
Preparation and Dosage: Remove any developing fruit before using.
