Properties and Uses:
Astringent, emetic, mucilaginous, astringent, tonic. The rootstock of solomon's seal has found application mainly for external problems. It makes a good poultice for bruises, inflammations, and wounds and a good wash for skin problems and blemishes. It has also been used as a wash to counteract the effects of poison ivy.
CAUTION: All parts are potentially toxic, and large doses can be harmful.
